Red Wines

USA

The Californian wine industry has nurtured such giants of the wine world market as Gallo, Mondavi and Constellation. This is in addition to a host of small, but vociferous, champions of quality wines and production. With predictions of a growing market for a wide range of varietals, not just California’s own Zinfandel, there have been massive plantings in recent years.

The Wildflower selection reflects this interest in varietals and we’ve put together a collection of exciting, predominantly Californian wines, from small, boutique wineries. The Winston Hill wines are perfect entry-level wines, ideal for everyday drinking. Cline Cellars make some fabulous wines; their Zinfandels are amongst the best from the region. Another USA winery that merits an introduction is Jewel Collection. These wines have received over 400 accolades in recent years and are included in Tom Stevenson's Wine Report 2007 as one of the top 10 best value wines from California. Leaving California and heading north, Duck Pond Cellars are based in Dundee, Oregon. We feature their burgundy-esque, cooler-climate Pinot Noir.
